With buildings responsible for a large share of consumption the concept of sustainable architecture, also known as “green architecture”, has become increasingly salient in the design of the built environment. The idea of sustainability or ecological design is to ensure resource and energy efficiency while minimising material waste and emissions during construction and maintenance of the building.
With Kuala Lumpur ranked 19th in the world ‘sustainable cities’ index and the introduction of the Green Building Index (GBI), this panel features Huat Lim, Chris Wong and Sutapa Bhattacharya will unpack further how sustainable development can thrive in the face of rapid urbanisation.
