Shin Chang graduated from the University of Melbourne, went on to practice in few Melbourne based architectural firm couple of years. He returned to Kuala Lumpur in 2009, after several years of working on residential projects and landscape projects; with Unit one design and Seksan design. He started Mentahmatter Design with Penny Ng in 2013. Who both has strong belief on simplicity approach, taking humanity, community and regional context as their main design conscious. They focus on small projects and several adaptive reused building, including Sungai Buloh Leprosy story museum, Chocha Foodstore, YWCA house, and Janda Baik retreat.
He then started to involve in several restaurant space. Pursuing his architecture practice, simultaneously configured relevant content for architecture and community.
