iNYALA #3: VISUAL ARTS ON THE DIGITAL CANVAS: THE APPLICATION OF LED MAPPING
The third workshop featured a sharing session between Paul Koh, Stanley Seow and Coune.
Paul discussed the designing and delivering commercial projects for clients, emphasising that his work at Kezerk innovations creating are specifically constructed for an audience. Thus, elements like immersion and interaction are key.
Stanley Seow shared a different perspective on his work being an intersection of art and science when creating interactive installations. Seow also spoke on technical knowledge of hardware and software for LED audio visualizers that audiences could adopt.
Last but not least, Coune took us through some of his previous permanent installations and the problems that he had to troubleshoot in ensuring the longevity of the project.
The Q&A session raised questions on how daunting new media art might seem with the complicated hardware and software involved but assured each other that it is a learning and problem-solving process that is rewarding when creating a unique immersive experience people can enjoy.
Besides that, panellists shared how they first get their start in new media art and that it is not limited to design school, encouraging audiences to start with simple software and hardware visualisations.
