{"id":4818,"date":"2019-12-01T04:16:36","date_gmt":"2019-12-01T04:16:36","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/inyala.my\/v1\/?p=4818"},"modified":"2022-08-29T08:22:05","modified_gmt":"2022-08-29T00:22:05","slug":"inyala-2019-award-presentation-and-closing-ceremony","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/inyala.my\/v1\/inyala-2019-award-presentation-and-closing-ceremony\/","title":{"rendered":"iNYALA 2019 Award Presentation and Closing Ceremony"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>It\u2019s a call for celebration as \u200b<strong>iNYALA 2019 <\/strong>had successfully concluded its first light art installation exhibition and presented five awards after a highly competitive judging process by the industry professionals on last Sunday, 1 December 2019 at REXKL.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Following an open call to the local higher education institutions in July 2019 garnering artistic proposals that best represents the theme \u201c\u200b<strong>Imagine the Impossible<\/strong>\u200b\u201d with sustainability practice, nine teams of students emerged as the finalists. Each finalist team was assigned an allotted amount of RM1,500 to execute their final artworks to be exhibited at a month-long exhibition at REXKL from 1 \u2013 30 November 2019 and eventually determine 5 winning teams of different award categories.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The finalists\u2019 artworks comprising \u200b<strong>Reverse Rain Box <\/strong>by Unison Indra (UCSI University); <strong>Uniarea <\/strong>by Creaters (Dasein Academy of Art); \u200b<strong>Digital Shui <\/strong>by H2O (MMU); \u200b<strong>Icosahedron <\/strong>by BIMDs (The One Academy); \u200b<strong>Mindforest <\/strong>by CD-rw (Dasein Academy of Art); \u200b<strong>Cocoon Made Me Do It <\/strong>by Ramai-Ramai (MMU); \u200b<strong>Time Machine <\/strong>by Sue Ann (Raffles College of Higher Education); \u200b<strong>Swing Beyond <\/strong>by BIMDs (The One Academy); and \u200b<strong>NO\u00c9L<\/strong>\u200b by ODRANO\u00c9L (UCSI University).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There are five awards including \u200b<strong>Best of Show <\/strong>\u200b(Cash Prize: RM8,000), \u200b<strong>Best Use of Technology <\/strong>(Cash Prize: RM3,000), \u200b<strong>Best Visual Appearance <\/strong>(Cash Prize: RM3,000), \u200b<strong>Best Inspiration <\/strong>(Cash Prize: RM3,000) and \u200b<strong>Crowd Favorite <\/strong>\u200b(Cash Prize: RM2,000).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The winners are as follow:<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"640\" height=\"427\" src=\"https:\/\/inyala.my\/v1\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/12\/DDD_6410.jpeg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-5635\" srcset=\"https:\/\/inyala.my\/v1\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/12\/DDD_6410.jpeg 640w, https:\/\/inyala.my\/v1\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/12\/DDD_6410-300x200.jpeg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 640px) 100vw, 640px\" \/><figcaption><strong>The Crowd Favorite Award: <\/strong>Time Machine, \u200b<em>Sue Ann from Raffles College of Higher Institution<\/em>\u200b. Besides, 15% of the visitors are foreigners, which we believe we are one step closer to bring the local talents\u2019 works to be seen on an international level, and we will continue to work on that!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On top of that, iNYALA is committed to sustainability efforts wherein the light art installations are integrated with energy efficiency elements and will only be powered up when there are interaction and engagement between the audience and the installations. iNYALA advocates for responsible consumption and production as a great concept and execution should always be infused with sustainability considerations on artwork\u2019s second life and innovative use of recycled materials.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In closing of the exhibition, iNYALA also organised a sustainability forum as a meaningful and impactful means to end the event.
