I\u2019m happy to note that here in Malaysia, we too have bold young artists and talents that are exploring the possibilities of combining art and technology to breathtaking result. With the unveiling of iNYALA, KL will have its own exciting interactive light art exhibition.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>iNYALA 2019 also serves as a competition ground for nine finalist teams from five local higher education institutions &#8211; Dasein Academy of Art, Multimedia University (MMU), Raffles College of Higher Education, The One Academy and UCSI University, corresponding to the key theme \u2018\u200b<strong>Imagine the Impossible<\/strong>\u200b\u2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe future of new media art in Malaysia is still at its infancy stage despite having a pool of aspiring talents and artists from a wealth of cultures, backgrounds and abilities. We are all eager to explore, experiment and contribute to the creative industry. iNYALA aims to be the platform to bring the industry professionals and aspiring talents together to open the public\u2019s mind to imaginations \u2013 how it can be realised with technology and creativity, at the same time going deeper to explore the possibilities of turning the installations to becoming applicable solutions to solve issues in the society,\u201d said \u200b<strong>Helios Loo<\/strong>\u200b, Founder of iNYALA.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"683\" src=\"https:\/\/inyala.my\/v1\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/11\/DSC_8210-1024x683-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-5649\" srcset=\"https:\/\/inyala.my\/v1\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/11\/DSC_8210-1024x683-1.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/inyala.my\/v1\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/11\/DSC_8210-1024x683-1-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/inyala.my\/v1\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/11\/DSC_8210-1024x683-1-768x512.jpg 768w, https:\/\/inyala.my\/v1\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/11\/DSC_8210-1024x683-1-720x480.jpg 720w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><figcaption>YB Tuan Bakhtiar and Founder of iNYALA, Helios Loo officiated iNYALA with LED fan customized with iNYALA key theme &#8216;Imagine The Impossible&#8217;.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p>Located on the \u200b<em>kelas khas <\/em>\u200b(reserved floor) in the heritage and reformed REX cinema, there\u2019s a sense of nostalgia as you step into the site despite its lightly modernised decor that includes neon lights complementing the theme of the exhibition rather well.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The VIP guests, judges and members of the media were ushered into the former cinema through the immersive laser light &#8211; \u200b<strong>Quantum <\/strong>\u200bby renowned light artist and architect Jun Ong.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>They also presented the launch video on an art installation &#8211; \u200b<strong>KLDCG <\/strong>\u200bby FNL PRJCT, which was created with nine supposedly disposed TV displays that have been reformed into a huge singular display.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>After the preview, YB Tuan Muhammad Bakhtiar and other VIP guests had the chance to experience the finalist teams\u2019 light art installations themselves. These artworks are created following good environmental practice to minimise impact and pollution.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On the importance of sustainable practice in the design and creation of these physical artworks, Helios further commented, \u201cthe iNYALA 2019 edition combines technology, art and human interaction to give a sense of how art can be playful yet informative, innovative and borderless. It aims to pave the way that art and creativity could take in the future too. Sustainability and preservation of the environment are one of the core messages of the exhibition, we hope the visitors will be able to learn about this through our installations which are created with energy efficiency in mind and highly reusable items.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Executed with only RM1,500 for each team, these final artworks were also judged on the day by panel judges comprising industry experts including Abdul Shakir, Fariz Hanapiah, Jun Ong, Melissa Teoh, Pamela Tan, Shin Tseng, Shin Chang and Premesh Chandran.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"683\" src=\"https:\/\/inyala.my\/v1\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/11\/DSC_7536-1024x683-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-5650\" srcset=\"https:\/\/inyala.my\/v1\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/11\/DSC_7536-1024x683-1.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/inyala.my\/v1\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/11\/DSC_7536-1024x683-1-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/inyala.my\/v1\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/11\/DSC_7536-1024x683-1-768x512.jpg 768w, https:\/\/inyala.my\/v1\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/11\/DSC_7536-1024x683-1-720x480.jpg 720w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><figcaption>YB Tuan Bakhtiar was sitting on Swing Beyond to see how his swing would interact with the color of the &#8216;cloud&#8217; above.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p>Led by Helios, the VIP crowd interacted and marveled at the finalists\u2019 work comprising of \u200b<strong>Reverse Rain Box <\/strong>by Unison Indra (UCSI University); \u200b<strong>Uniarea <\/strong>by Creaters (Dasein Academy of Art); \u200b<strong>Digital Shui <\/strong>by H2O (MMU); \u200b<strong>Icosahedron <\/strong>by BIMDs (The One Academy); \u200b<strong>Mindforest <\/strong>\u200bby CD-rw (Dasein Academy of Art); \u200b<strong>Cocoon Made Me Do It <\/strong>by Ramai-Ramai (MMU); \u200b<strong>Time Machine <\/strong>by Sue Ann (Raffles College of Higher Education); \u200b<strong>Swing Beyond <\/strong>by BIMDs (The One Academy); and \u200b<strong>NO\u00c9L <\/strong>\u200bby ODRANO\u00c9L (USCI University).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The award-giving ceremony will take place on 1 December 2019. One award, \u200b<strong><em>Crowd Favourite<\/em><\/strong>\u200b, will be awarded based on a rather unconventional way of \u2018voting\u2019. Instead of asking visitors to vote for their favourite, the winner will be determined based on the lengthiest amount of time that visitors spent on the artwork.
